Privacy Policy

Makasa Cards ("we," "our," or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how the Makasa Cards mobile game handles your information.

1. Information We Collect

Makasa Cards uses Firebase Authentication to create an anonymous account when you first open the app. This is required for online multiplayer functionality. We collect the following:

• Anonymous user ID — generated by Firebase Auth. No email, phone number, or password is required.
• Player name — the display name you choose in Settings. Stored in Firebase Firestore to identify you to other players during online games.
• Friend code — a randomly generated 6-character code used to add friends. Stored in Firestore.
• Friends list — the UIDs and names of players you add as friends.
• Game data — when playing online, game state (cards, turns, scores) is temporarily stored in Firestore for real-time multiplayer sync. This data is tied to game rooms, not to your identity.
• Game results & statistics — win/loss records and leaderboard rankings are stored in Firestore.

Local preferences (sound, haptics, music, theme, game settings) are stored on your device using SharedPreferences and are never transmitted to any server.

2. Advertising

Makasa Cards displays advertisements served by Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and use the following data to serve ads:

• Device advertising identifier (Google Advertising ID on Android, IDFA on iOS)
• Device information — device model, operating system version
• IP address — used for approximate location-based ad targeting
• App interaction data — ad views and interactions

You can opt out of personalized advertising through your device settings:

• Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
• iOS: Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking

3. How the App Works

Makasa Cards is a multiplayer card game that can be played offline against AI bots or online against other players. Online play uses Google Firebase (Cloud Firestore) to sync game state in real time between players. Game rooms are temporary and are deleted when all players leave.

4. Firebase Services Used

• Firebase Authentication — anonymous sign-in only. No personal credentials collected.
• Cloud Firestore — stores game rooms, player profiles (name + friend code), friends lists, game invites, and leaderboard data.
• Firebase Crashlytics — collects anonymous crash reports in release builds to help us fix bugs. No personally identifiable information is included.

5. Data Security

All data transmitted between the app and Firebase is encrypted in transit using TLS. Firestore security rules restrict access so that players can only read and write data relevant to their own games and profiles. Uninstalling the app removes all locally stored preferences. Firebase data (profile, friends, game history) persists until you request deletion.

6. Third-Party Services

Makasa Cards uses the following third-party services:

• Google Firebase — authentication, database, and crash reporting as described above.
• Google AdMob — advertising as described in Section 2.

7. Children’s Privacy

Makasa Cards does not knowingly collect personal information from children under the age of 13. The app uses anonymous authentication and does not request any personally identifiable information. The game content is suitable for all ages. Ads shown to users under the age of consent are non-personalized in compliance with COPPA and Google’s policies.

8. Data Retention & Deletion

Game room data is temporary and is deleted when all players leave. Player profiles, friends lists, and leaderboard data are retained as long as the anonymous account exists. To request deletion of your data, contact us at the email below.

9. Changes to This Policy

This Privacy Policy may be updated if the app’s functionality changes. Any updates will be reflected in the app store listing or within the app.
