Privacy Policy

CM Driver & Merchandiser ("we," "our," or "us") is the official staff companion app for The Cheeseman. This Privacy Policy explains how our app handles information and device permissions to support day-to-day field operations for drivers, merchandisers, sales representatives, and administrators.

1. Account Management

CM Driver & Merchandiser does not offer self-registration. All user accounts, roles, and access permissions are created and managed exclusively by The Cheeseman's internal systems and administrators.

Users cannot sign up or create accounts within the app.
Login credentials are issued and managed by The Cheeseman's internal team.
Role-based access (Driver, Merchandiser, Sales Representative, Administrator) is assigned at the system level and determines what features and data each user can access.

2. Information We Collect

CM Driver & Merchandiser is designed to collect only the minimum information necessary to support field operations. We do not collect personal information such as names, surnames, phone numbers, or email addresses through the app itself.

The following operational data may be collected during normal app use:

Location data — GPS coordinates are recorded when merchandisers clock in and out at customer sites and when orders are placed in the field. This data is used solely for attendance tracking and order verification.
Proof-of-delivery photos — Drivers may capture and upload photos of signed delivery documents (PODs) directly from the app. These images are stored securely within The Cheeseman's internal systems and are not shared with third parties.
Order and operational data — Information relating to orders placed, products browsed, and sync activity is recorded to support business operations and provide accurate reporting to The Cheeseman's management.

3. Device Permissions

The app requests the following device permissions in order to function properly. Each permission is used only for the purpose described below:

Used to automatically clock merchandisers in and out when they arrive at or leave customer sites, and to record the location at which orders are placed.

Camera

Used by drivers to capture photos of proof-of-delivery documents (PODs) at the point of delivery. Photos are uploaded to The Cheeseman's internal records.

Notifications

Used to alert staff to important events such as data sync reminders, order status updates, and other operational notifications relevant to their role.

No permission is used for advertising, analytics, or any purpose beyond what is described above. Permissions are requested at the point they are needed and can be managed through your device's settings.

4. Offline Data Storage

CM Driver & Merchandiser is built as an offline-first application. Product catalogues, customer information, and order data are downloaded to the device so staff can continue working without an internet connection. This locally stored data is synced back to The Cheeseman's systems when connectivity is restored. The data stored on-device is limited to what is necessary for the user's assigned role and is protected by the device's own security measures.

5. How Data Is Used

All data collected through the app is used exclusively to support The Cheeseman's internal business operations, including:

Attendance and GPS clock-in/out records for merchandisers
Order placement and management across roles
Delivery confirmation via proof-of-delivery photo uploads
Sales analytics and reporting for management
Audit trails for administrative oversight and compliance

We do not sell, rent, or share your data with any third parties for marketing or commercial purposes.

6. Data Security

All data transmitted between the app and The Cheeseman's systems is handled over secure connections. Data stored on-device is accessible only to the authenticated user. The Cheeseman's existing organisational data protection measures govern how server-side data is stored and protected.

7. Third-Party Services

CM Driver & Merchandiser does not integrate with third-party advertising, analytics, or tracking platforms. Any external services used (such as exchange rate data for multi-currency support) are used solely to provide core app functionality and do not receive personally identifiable information.

8. Your Rights

Because personal data is not collected directly by the app, data access or deletion requests related to your account or operational records should be directed to your Cheeseman administrator or account manager. They are responsible for managing account-level data within The Cheeseman's internal systems.

9. Children's Privacy

CM Driver & Merchandiser is intended solely for use by authorised Cheeseman staff members. It is not directed at or intended for use by individuals under the age of 18.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time to reflect changes in the app's features or applicable regulations. Any updates will be communicated through official Cheeseman channels or via the app itself.
